Day 5: Tribal nails

We’re now halfway through the nail challenge, and we want to try something a bit more, well, challenging. We’ve been seeing this “tribal inspired” trend everywhere lately, and we thought it would be fun to take it to the next level.

What we used:

Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush in White Canvas, $3.99

Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush in Black Sketch, $3.99

Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush in Yellow Design, $3.99

Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush in Blue Print, $3.99

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black, $4

Sparitual True Bond Topcoat, $15

How we got the look:

Step 1. Anna took it one color at a time, starting with the black lines. She used a fine-tipped brush to lay down each line. (Tip: make sure each strip of color dries before laying down the one next to it, so the colors don’t run together.)

Step 2. Next, Anna alternated between the white, blue and yellow polish to create asymmetrical tribal patterns on each nail. Play around with different shapes and patterns — like stripes, dots, or zig-zags — to make the look your own.

Step 3. Once finished, Anna applied a clear topcoat to seal the look.
