Holiday Hair and Makeup For Your Face Shape

Makeup for Oval Faces Like Jessica Alba’s: Go Monochromatic

While oval face shapes can pull off pretty much anything, makeup artist Taylor Babaian, author of Style Eyes, says a monochromatic look is the best option when it comes to makeup because it creates balance for your entire face. You can choose to keep it neutral or play with color, just make sure you stick to the same color scheme on your eyes, cheeks, and lips.

Here’s how to get Jessica Alba’s bronzy cat-eye:

1. Start by applying a nude cream shadow on your lids. Then sweep a coppery brown shadow into your crease, and blend it up towards your brow bone. (Expert tip: Place a tissue underneath your eye to catch any falling shadow, says makeup artist Stephanie Flor).

2. Next, line your upper and lower lash lines with black kohl eyeliner. Extend the line out towards the end of your eyebrow, says makeup artist Marissa Nemes. Sweep the same brown shadow along the bottom lashes, and smudge it into your winged-out liner for a blended look.

3. Dot a bit of champagne-colored highlighter on the inner corners of your eyes to create more of a dazzling look, perfect for the holidays, says Nemes.
