Day 3: Meeting the parents? Pull out the big guns
1. I start by parting my hair to the side. Side parts always add a bit of romance to your look, says stylist Kiersten O’Neil. (Hmm … definitely something to keep in mind for future dates.)
2. Next, I curl my hair in 2-inch sections. I wrap the first half of each section around the barrel forward, and then wrap the bottom half backward. This keeps the curls slightly imperfect for that haphazard look, says Dunton.
3. Once I curl all of my hair, I take small sections of curls and pin them up using bobby pins. I make sure to leave out the front layers for a more romantic touch.
4. I mist the updo with a light, super flexible hold hairspray (I use Pureology Colour Stylist Strengthening Control Hairspray, $19).
