The most drastic haircut I ever received was when I cut my looong (think mid-back length) hair into a choppy bob for Locks of Love. It was for a great cause, but I couldn’t help crying after the styling from the salon wore off. I spent months trying to get my hair to flip the right way, and after I gave up, I avoided mirrors at all costs. As you can tell, I’m definitely not a rebel when it comes to haircuts. That’s why I’m always amazed when a movie star tries a pixie cut, or even more terrifying, shaves her head. Shudder.
Of course, when it comes to a movie role, some celebs are paid millions of dollars to take up the scissors. Others just want a new look — or some new press. And then, there are usually a few crazies in the bunch (Britney Spears’ impulsive head shave, anyone?).

But I have to admit there are some celebs that can definitely pull off a short haircut. I don’t know what makes these ladies so special, besides tons of money to pay for the best hairstylist ever. Maybe it’s about picking a look that fits their face shape, or having unshakable confidence. I’m guessing a little of both.
