Kate Beckinsale‘s big updo is very polished while screaming “look at me” at the same time. And it requires teasing — lots of it. Here’s how to get the look:

1. This look works best on unwashed hair (you’ll need some grip to get it to stay in place). To start, use a teasing comb to tease a section of hair at the top of your head.

2. After pushing it up a bit towards your hairline, use bobby pins to secure the top section of hair down.

3. Now gather up the rest of your hair and secure it in a high ponytail using an elastic. Backcomb the ponytail from root to end, and mist it with strong-hold hairspray.

4. Take the end of your ponytail and tuck it under itself. Use bobby pins to secure the ends completely, and allow the bun to cascade over.
