Leanne Marshall chose simple ponytails with a little bit of volume around the crown for her runway finale — a look that is versatile for day and night and is easy to pull off for fine hair.

Step 1: Start by setting one big chunk of hair on the top of your head in a big hot roller for about 10 minutes to get body, leaving any bangs out of the equation.



Step 2: Spray with hairspray, like Pantene Classic Unforgettable Hairspray, $4.32, to keep shape after letting the hot roller loose. When spraying hairspray, Noriz says to “make sure to hold the bottle at least 18 inches from hair so it goes on light and even” and doesn’t weigh down fine hair.



Step 3: Comb hair softly back and down to the nape of your neck. Secure into a ponytail. Continue brushing and spraying to shape if needed. Finally, smooth and control bang into a side sweep.
