Season 7, “Fashion Farm”: Jay Nicolas’ model’s messy bun
Step 1: To keep hair from being damaged by hot tools, Noriz says to prep hair by applying a protective product, like IronDesign by Shu Uemura, $28, on dry hair before styling.
Step 2: Then take a 1.25-inch curling iron and curl your entire head using vertical sections starting in back and working your way forward and up.
Step 3: Next, section out a deep side part and create a “triangle shape across front of head” (for that heavy side bang in the front).
Step 4: Working with the rest of your hair, loosely brush hair back off your face and direct hair behind the ear of the low side parting.
Step 5: Create a ponytail and softly twist it across the back of your head, slowly securing twist and side bun while spraying with a strong hold hairspray. Apply as many booby pins needed to secure shape.
