Fall Accessories #1
Fall is the time for apple picking, big sweaters, cozy boots and pumpkin spice lattes. And while we don't mind being dubbed "basic" for our love of PSLs and our habit of Instagramming as much vibrant fall foliage as our data plans will allow, we believe our autumn wardrobes should be anything but.
That's why we're looking to these seven must-have fall accessories to help us dress up our warm-and-comfy ensembles and stand out among the rest of this season's basics.

Scarves! Scarves! Scarves!
We know you wait all year to pull out those cozy oversized scarfs. Well, we've got good news: It's officially time to swaddle yourself in this chic blanket-like accessory. Wear them with your favorite jacket, or use them to elevate a basic top or dress.

Break out the Belts
Layers are a girl's best friend this time of year (think: sweaters, flannels, scarves), but all that clothing can get a bit bulky. To keep your look tailored, try a waist-defining belt. Thick or thin, a belt is a great centerpiece and makes your waist look smaller among all your layers. Boom. Sweater-skinny can officially be a thing.

Ankle Boots Galore
As much as we love the cooler weather and changing leaves, we’re a little sad to see summer go. To ease the transition, skip the tall riding boots, and rock adorable ankle boots instead. To boot (pun intended), they go with everything and they're far less sweaty than their taller counterparts. Pair them with one of your summer dresses and a sweater for the perfect transitional outfit.

Big Bag Boon
When it comes to your fall tote, the bigger the better. Small clutches and tiny, structured bags had their moment -- now it's time to expand your handbag horizon with an oversized purse. Not only is it fashionable, it's also practical. Now that the air is brisk, you have an excuse to carry around a mini department store in your purse, as lip balms, hand creams and moisturizers are essential cold-weather additions to your regular makeup touch-up case.

Fedora Fever
Big brimmed sun hats may have died with our last 80-degree sunny day, but fedoras are just making their debut. Whether you're covering up second-day strands, looking for some sun protection (yes, you should still be concerned about this, even in winter) or are just (pumpkin) spicing up your look, fedoras will make you an instant fashionista this fall.

Full Leather Jacket
It's finally cool enough to don a leather (or faux-leather jacket), a must-have for the season. A leather jacket is ultra versatile: It can do anything from giving your GNO look a rock 'n' roll edge to making your go-to jeans and t-shirt look a little sassier.

Headband Heaven
Headbands were all over the Fall 2015 runways, proving that hair accessories are making a comeback. From faux leather to metallic to athletic-inspired, there's an option for every personality. They're a great way to hide second day hair (because between the dry air and chillier temperatures you know we're not washing our hair every day), while still making you look like you put in effort.
