Even though I’ve covered Fashion Week before, I still get butterflies in my stomach every time the tents go up. Don’t get me wrong; it’s a ton of work (think 30 shows, 100 interviews), backstage is complete chaos, and by the end of the week, I can hardly recognize my swollen feet. (Time to cue up the DVR.)
BUT, it’s still Fashion Week, which means inspiring clothes and the latest hair and makeup looks. And not everyone gets the chance to go behind-the-scenes of one of the biggest fashion events of the year. So I decided to share it all — the good, the bad, and the ugly — in my Fashion Week diary.

While I gathered some great “how to get the look” info, there was a lot more going on backstage than purple eyeliner and hairspray. I got a sneak peek at some super-pretty products that won’t be out until fall, practically tripped over a few celebs, and saw more models crying than I want to admit.
These are the highlights from backstage, and I hope you find them as interesting (and entertaining!) as I did. After all, it’s not every day that “Twilight” star Nikki Reed hijacks your interview or you get to see your favorite fashion bloggers hit the catwalk for the first time.
