| Charlize Theron is a style star for her understated and elegant glamour. A clean face and red lips are always right for evening and formal events. To get your own simple yet glamorous look, BeautyRiot suggests you try:
FACE |
| Foundation / concealer
Start with a concealer a shade lighter than your natural skin tone. Use under the eyes and in the inner corners. Also apply to any blemishes or discolorations. Blend with fingers or a sponge.
Using a sponge, apply an ivory foundation, blending with concealer to create even tone across the face.
Follow after applying blush with a dusting of powder to set makeup. Apply with a large powder brush or velour puff. Wait 3-5 minutes and brush off excess powder. |
| Blush |
Apply a rosey blush only to the apples of cheeks with a medium rounded brush. Blend very well.
EYES |
| Eyelid |
Use a pale, pearly taupe shadow or peach shadow on the lids. Apply to the entire lid and lightly under lower lashes (using an eyeliner brush if desired). Blend well. Add just a dab to the inner corners of eyes for extra glamour.
| Crease |
Apply a warmer, matte shade of taupe or peach in the crease. Use a light touch and blend well.
| Hilite |
Apply a nude matte shadow to the browbone. Blend.
| Eyeliner |
Use a damp eyeliner brush and apply the same shadow as used in the crease to very delicately line eyes along the upper and lower lashes. Try to stay only between lashes. Then blur gently with sponge or soft dry brush. |
| Mascara |
Apply two or three coats of black lengthening mascara to the top lashes. Apply one coat to the lower lashes -- for an even subtler look, use brown mascara on the lower lashes. |
| Brows |
Use a brown shadow or pencil to fill in brows and frame the eyes. Concentrate on the arches for definition. It's better to do your brows after lipstick in order to get the right balance on the face. |
LIPS |
Apply a deep red lipstick with a brush to insure even color without smudging. Apply lipstick, blot with tissue, and apply again for staying power. Line lips with a matching shade and blot again with tissue to prevent color-bleed.
If you are fair, choose a blue-red. If you are warm, a more orange-red may look better.
