Exotic Eyes

Men love Angelina Jolie. When asked why, they say they like how relaxed and unfussy she looks (not to mention how gorgeous she is, of course). This makeup look is a great example. It's exotic but not overwraught. Focus on the eyes, and keep everything else subtle. This makeup look is easier and quicker to do than you might think.

You can also find tips on other celebrities in our Celebrity Looks Gallery or give yourself a celebrity virtual makeover on your own digital photo with BeautyRiot's Instant Makeover.

FACE
Foundation / Concealer To recreate this look, you'll want to use neutral, subtle shades everywhere on the face except the eyes. After moisturizing, apply a matte or satin foundation, blending carefully around the jawline. Next, apply concealer under the eyes and on the lids. Conceal any blemishes. Then, use a large powder brush to lightly dust on a loose powder to set makeup. Use a puff or sponge to apply powder generously around the eyes -- this will give eyeliner optimal staying power.
Blush Use a delicate pink or peach blush, whichever compliments your skin tone and eye color best. If your face is full, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. If your face is oval or narrow, you can apply blush higher on the cheekbone.
EYES
Eyelid Apply a pearly neutral taupe or nude eyeshadow from the lid to the crease. Swipe a light touch of this along your lower lash line.
Crease Use a medium brown or light gray eyeshadow in the crease from corner to corner.
Hilite Use a nude or cream eyeshadow sparingly on the brow bone.
Eyeliner You're going to use two different eyeliners for this look: (1) a black, charcoal and (2)a dark brown. Either or both can be wet powder or pencil eyeliner.

Start with your dark brown eyeliner. Line the entire eyelash line, top and bottom, with the most delicte line you can achieve. Aim your brush or pencil at your top lash line from underneath and at the lower lash line from above. Try using a dotting motion with a very light touch. This will help you keep the color just in between the lashes.

Next, grab your charcoal or black eyeliner. Go back and aim your pencil or brush at the upper lash line from above. Starting from 1/4 to 1/3 of the the way in from the inner corner, gradually widen the line upward as you progress toward the outer corner. The further you draw beyond the outer corner of your eye and the wider the line gets, the more dramatic and exotic your eyes will appear.

Finish by lighly lining the lower lashline with your black or charcoal eyeliner. Begin at the outer corner and stop 1/3 to 1/2 of the way across. You can blur this lower line a little with a sponge if you like, but set the brown eyeliner first with a little face powder patted on using a sponge.
Brows Define brows with a powder or pencil in a shade just slightly darker than your hair color. Start by defining the arch and then fill in the rest as necessary.
Mascara Curl lashes and coat with a black, lengthening mascara.

Angelina has upplied some single false eyelashes at the outer corners of her upper lids. Use false lashes if you want to add a little drama, but be sure to give yourself a chance to practice applying before you actually do it for real.

LIPS
Choose a very delicate pink or peach lipstick. Apply a coat and then blot with tissue. Apply a touch of a sheer gloss. You can use a pearly formulation if you like, but keep it sheer.
