Be Cool.

Jennifer Lopez is, undoubtedly, very cool. Here she puts her coolest face forward, with a focus on classic cat eyes. This is a great look for a really special occasion. It's too dramatic for day-to-day--but if you switch the eyeshadow to a nude shade and drop the false lashes, you've got a daytime look.

You can find tips on other celebrities in our Celebrity Looks Gallery or give yourself a celebrity virtual makeover on your own digital photo with BeautyRiot's Instant Makeover.

FACE
Foundation / Concealer To recreate this look, you'll want to use neutral shades everywhere on the face except the eyes. After moisturizing, apply a matte or satin foundation, blending carefully around the jawline. Next, apply concealer under the eyes and on the lids. Conceal any blemishes. Then, use a large powder brush to lightly dust on a loose powder to set makeup. Use a puff or sponge to apply powder generously around the eyes -- this will give eyeliner optimal staying power.
Blush Use a delicate pink or peach blush, whichever compliments your skin tone and eye color best. If your face is full, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. If your face is oval or narrow, you can apply blush higher on the cheekbone.
EYES
Eyelid Apply a pearly white shadow from the lid to the crease. Swipe a light touch of this along your lower lash line and in the inner corner of the eye.
Crease Use only your white lid shade in the crease.
Hilite Use a matte vanilla shade on the brow bone. Using a matte shade that is slightly deeper and warmer than the pure white on your lids will place emphasis on the eyes and prevent your eyes from disappearing into a "sea of white."
Eyeliner Choose a black wet powder or liquid liner. Using wet liner takes practice! So don't wait until the big event to master the technique.

Start with the upper lashline. Aim the tip of your brush at the lashline from the underside of the lashes (as opposed to aiming from the topside of your lashes, which is probably your normal approach). Try using a dotting motion with a very light touch, to line just in between the lashes across the entire lashline.

Now come back and line the lashes aiming from the topside of the lashline. Use a very delicate touch and make a thin line all the way across the lashline. It's usually easier to move from the inner corner towards the outer corner.

Then, take another pass at lining. This time, gradually widen the line as you progress from the inner corner towards the outer corner. This is what creates the cat-eye effect. How dramatic the difference in the line thickness from the inner corner to the outer corner is up to you.

Next, very lightly dot in between the lashes of your lower lashline. Start from the outer corner, working your way towards the inner corner. You can stop 1/3, 1/2 or all the way across, depending up what you prefer.

Finally, trace the inner corners of your eyes very lightly, for a professional finish.
Brows Define brows with a powder or pencil in a shade just slightly darker than your hair color. Start by defining the arch and then fill in the rest as necessary.
Mascara Curl lashes and coat with a black, lengthening mascara.

Once your mascara is dry (you can finish up the rest of your face and come back to this step), it's time to apply the falsies. This look calls for wispy, soft, delicate lashes (not batwings). You can also use single false eyelashes to get just the amount of drama you want. False lashes really take practice. Some people find it easier to use tweezers to hold them and place them on the lashline. Apply a thin beading of glue. Bring the lash down onto your lashline from above. Gently set the lash into the position you want. Then carefully start nudging the lash closer into your lashline a little at a time, working from the center towards the outer edges until the entire lash is flush against your lashline.

LIPS
Choose a delicate pink or nude lipstick. Apply a coat and then blot with tissue. Repeat. Apply a touch of a sheer or lightly tinted gloss. You can use a pearly formulation if you like, but keep it sheer.
