| At the 60th Annual Golden Globes Elisha looked more confident and poised than other actresses with years of experience. When you want to look as striking yet understated as Elisha, stick with sheer colors. |
FACE |
|
|
| Foundation / concealer
|
Start with clean, exfoliated skin. After allowing moisturizer to soak in, apply concealer to the inner corners of the eyes and underneath to cover dark circles. Apply a small amount of concealer to the eyelid as an eye shadow base.
Apply foundation lightly to areas that need evening or coverage. |
| Blush |
Choose a light pink or rose blush. Apply blush in layers until you get a delicate glow. If your face is wide or round, apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks. Otherwise, apply higher on the cheekbone like Elisha. |
EYES |
|
|
| Eyelid |
Apply an almost-white pink or peach shadow from the lid to the crease. Next sweep a touch of this shade along the lower lash line. Finally, add a touch in the inner corners of your eyes |
| Crease |
Apply a touch of very pale shadow that matches your eye color along your top lashes. Then apply it in the crease from the center to the outer corner. Blend very well. |
| Hilite |
Use a sheer white or vanilla sparingly just under the arch of your brow. Use just enough to brighten your eyes. Blend very well. |
| Eyeliner |
Use a medium tinted eye pencil in a taupe or gray.
Lightly line the top lashes, from corner to corner, getting in between the lashes. Repeat on the lower lashes. Apply a very thin line, just enough to emphasize your eyes and create the appearance of fuller lashes.
Finally, trace a super-thin, delicate line around the inner corners of the eyes. |
| Mascara |
Curl the upper lashes. Coat upper and lower lashes two times with a black, thickening mascara.
For evening, you can use some individual false lashes at the outer corners of your upper lids. Be sure to practice a day or two ahead of time if you’re not experienced with falsies. |
| Brows |
Use a sharp pencil to shape and fill in your brows, if needed. Choose a shade as close to your hair color as possible or just a bit darker.
Start by defining the arch of each brow. Step back and look at your entire face in the mirror, and then fill in the rest of the brow as necessary. |
LIPS |
|
|
|
If your lips need smoothing, brush them gently with an old, soft toothbrush. Then apply petroleum jelly and allow it to soak in for 30 or more minutes.
Choose a sheer, light pink or rose lip liner and lipstick.
Apply one coat of the lipstick and blot with tissue, then apply a second coat. Repeat for longer lasting power.
Then, line the lips, blending lip pencil into lip color just a bit. Start with the peaks of your top lip and work your way around from there.
Top with plenty of clear gloss. |
