Jennifer Lopez at the 74th Annual Academy Awards

Whether you loved or hated her puffy 'do, you couldn't miss the fact that JLo's makeup was gorgeous. This look goes to work and out into the nightlife.

You can also find tips on other celebrities in our Celebrity Looks Gallery or give yourself a celebrity virtual makeover on your own digital photo with BeautyRiot's Instant Makeover.

FACE
Foundation / Concealer After moisturizing, apply concealer to the inner corners of the eyes and underneath to cover dark circles. Apply a small amount of concealer to the eyelid for a base foundation before applying shadow.

Use a foundation shade as close to your natural skin tone as possible and apply to any other areas of the face that need evening out. Blend well.
Blush Use a pink or light mauve shade of blush, depending upon which compliments your skintone better. You should apply your blush in the style that best suits your face. Round faces look better with blush applied to the apple of the cheek, while narrower faces can take blush on the cheekbone. Apply blush one light layer at a time until you have a delicate, pink glow.
EYES
Eyelid Apply a pearly light gold or beige from the lid to the crease. Dot some in the inner corners of the eyes for extra glamour.
Crease Apply a medium or dark brown in a pearl or matte formula in the crease from corner to corner.
Hilite Apply the same gold or beige color that you used on your lids just below the brow, from underneath the arch to the outer corner.
Eyeliner Choose a dark chocolate brown or black/brown powder liner or eyeshadow. Use a wet brush dipped in the powder to apply.

Apply a thin line to the top lash line, from corner to corner. Use a light touch and get the color in between the lashes. You can try dotting your way across the lashline and then going back and filling in to create one continuous line. Repeat until your lashline is nicely filled in, without allowing the line to get too heavy. Then, thicken the line a little at the outer half of the lashline to add glamour and widen eyes. Finally, trace a thin, delicate line around the inner corners of the eyes for a really professional look.
Brows Use a brow wax, with a small brush to shape and fill in, or pencil. Start by defining the arch and then fill in the rest as necessary.
Lashes Curl lashes and coat two or three times with a black, lengthening mascara.

If you want a more glamorous look, like JLo, go for a set of false lashes on the top lid. This takes practice, so be sure to practice a couple of times beforehand. Once false lashes have set, you can use an eyelash curler to blend them into your own lashes a little bit more.

LIPS
To get glass-smooth lips, try brushing them very gently with an old, soft toothbrush. Then apply petroleum jelly and allow it to soak in for 30 or more minutes.

Choose a matching lipliner and lipstick in a light pink or mauve shade that matches your blush as closely as possible. Apply one coat of the lipstick and blot with tissue, then apply a second coat. Then, line the lips if necessary. Cover your lips with a coat or two of clear gloss.
