FACE |
| Foundation /
Concealer
After moisturizing, apply concealer to the inner corners of the eyes and underneath to cover dark circles. Apply a small amount of concealer to the eyelid for a base foundation before applying shadow.
Use a creamy foundation in a shade as close to your natural skin tone as possible and apply to any areas of the face that need evening out. Blend well.
| Blush |
Use a pink or light mauve blush, depending upon which compliments your skin tone better. You should apply your blush in the style that best suits your face. Round faces look better with blush applied to the apple of the cheek, while narrower faces can take blush on the cheekbone. Apply blush one light layer at a time until you have a delicate, pink glow.
| EYES |
| Eyelid |
Apply a pearly vanilla/off-white on just the lid. Don’t apply in the crease. Now swipe just a light layer of this color along your lower lashline. Blend.
| Crease |
Apply an chocolate brown shadow in a matte formula in the crease from corner to corner. Blend very well, paying special attention to delicately blend into the lid shadow just a touch.
| Hilite |
Apply a matte shade of the vanilla/off-white just below the brow, from underneath the arch to the outer corner. This should be a very neutral, natural-looking shade that just acts to "pop" the browbone.
| Eyeliner |
Choose a matte formula, dark brown or black/brown powder liner or eyeshadow. Use a wet liner brush dipped in the powder to apply.
Apply a thin line to the top lash line, from corner to corner. Use a light touch and get the color in between the lashes. You can try dotting your way across the lashline and then going back and filling in to create one continuous, thin line. If desired, widen the line just a bit along the outer third or half of the lid to enlarge the eyes and to create a widening effect. Repeat the process on the lower lashline, creating a very thin, fine line, as close to the lashes as possible all the way across. Finally, trace a thin, delicate line around the inner corners of the eyes for a really professional look.
Brows |
Use a brow pencil or powder to shape and fill in brows. Start by defining the arch and then fill in the rest as necessary.
Lashes |
Curl lashes and coat two or three times with a black, lengthening mascara.
For added glamour, try a set of soft false lashes on the upper lids. This requires practice, so don't wait until the night of the big event!
LIPS |
To get glass-smooth lips, brush them very gently with an old, soft toothbrush. Then apply petroleum jelly and allow it to soak in for 30 or more minutes. You can do this first and let it sit while you apply the rest of your makeup.
Choose a lipstick in a pink or mauve that matches your blush as closely as possible. Apply one coat of the lipstick and blot with tissue, then apply a second coat. Top with a clear gloss for that gleaming look.
