Jennifer Connelly at the Premiere of 'A Beautiful Mind'
Jennifer Connelly went for total glamour at the Los Angeles premiere of the box office hit, 'A Beautiful Mind' in which she co-stars with Russell Crowe. This look requires plenty of makeup but hits the mark with its 1970's inspired high-impact effect.

| Foundation /
Concealer
After moisturizing, apply concealer with a brush to the inner corners of the eyes and underneath to cover dark circles. You should also apply concealer to the eyelid for a base foundation before applying shadow. Use the lightest-colored foundation you can get away with and apply the entire face. Use a large powder brush to lightly dust on a matching powder to set makeup. You don't want to see the powder, however, so use very little, tapping the brush several times before touching the face with it. Instead of brushing down, roll the brush across face for lighter coverage.
| Blush |
Choose a pale to medium shade of pink in powder form (one that will coordinate well with your lipcolor - see below) and apply blush with a large blush brush. Jennifer does not have blush applied to the apples of her cheeks - rather it is applied high on the cheekbones. However, you should apply your blush in the style that best suits your face. Round faces look better with blush applied to the apple of the cheek, while narrower faces can take blush on the cheekbone. You may want to apply another light dusting of face powder over this to help prevent fading. Some women find instead that a very light spray of water helps to set powder blush.

| EYES |
| Eyelid |
Start by applying a pearly golden-beige (the lighter the shade, the better) shade from lashline to brow. You can use powder or creme, whichever formula gives you better staying power. Take some of this shade and lightly dust it in the inner corner of the eye, and if you like take some along the lower lashes.
Next, apply a pearly light lilac or purple (the lighter the shade the better) in a dime-sized dot just in the center of the lid, right above the lashes. Blend it gently using a soft, clean eyeshadow or blending brush.
| Crease |
Use a rich, pearly, dark purple shade to fill the crease of your eyelid.
| Hilite |
Apply just small amount of the light lilac or purple that you used on your lid to the area just under the outer half of each eyebrow. Blend with an eyeshadow or blending brush.
| Eyeliner |
Use the same eyeshadow that you used for the crease of your eyelid. For better staying power, dampen an eyeliner brush with water and dip it into your powder shadow. Line the bottom lashes first, from corner to corner, being liberal. A wider line is desirable, without going too crazy of course. After you have applied the shadow us a sponge or your pinky finger to very gently soften and blur the line just a little. Repeat if necessary.
Now, apply the color to the top lash line, from the outer corner to 3/4 of the way across. Blur the line and repeat if necessary. Then line the *entire* remainder of the lashline using the finest, thinnest most delicate line you can draw.
If you desire even more drama and impact, choose an eye pencil in a matching shade and apply it over top your powder liner.
Brows |
Use a brow wax, with a small brush to shape and fill in, or pencil. Start by defining the arch and then fill in the rest as necessary.
Mascara |
Curl lashes and coat two or three times with a black, lengthening mascara.
LIPS |
Pick a pencil and lipstick combo in a delicate melon or coral shade. Line the lips with the pencil and fill with the lipstick. Top your color with a coat or two of clear, pearly gloss.
