FACE |
| Foundation / concealer
Conceal dark circles under the eyes and in inner corners, as well as other problem areas. Use a yellow-based shade, or green-based for redness. Blend very well.
If desired, try a powder-based foundation. To set concealer and/or foundation, lightly apply the powder foundation dry, sparingly to avoid dullness. Blend, blend, blend. |
| Blush |
This look showcases the eyes, so stay away from bright, purple-ish blush. Use whatever melon or coral-based color looks natural on you. Cream, gel or stick formulas blend easier and last longer.
Apply blush lightly to the apples of the cheeks. Blend mercilessly. Add touches to the temples, nose and chin if desired, but keep it light. |
| EYES |
| Eyelid |
Use a pearly terracotta, gold, copper or orangey shade that works well with your eye color to make your eyes "pop." Blend. |
| Crease |
Define the eye socket with a pearly shadow from the same color but one or two shades darker than your lid color, or use the same shade you used on the lid. Blend well. |
| Hilite |
Use a pearly cream or pale beige. You can touch some of this color in the inner corners of the eyes. Blend! |
| Eyeliner |
Line the eye with a purple-blue pencil. Find something intense with a strong pigment. Line the entire eye from corner to corner, top and bottom, including the inside rim of the lower lid. Get the color between the lashes. Blend with a sponge, especially on the top lid, then reapply for intensity and staying-power.
Brows |
If your brows are dark and full, make sure they are well-groomed and just add a touch of gel to keep them in place.
Mascara |
Use black or black-brown. You can apply a final coat of blue or purple mascara to upper and lower, or you can apply it just to your bottom lashes. Curling your lashes beforehand will enhance the big-eye effect. |
LIPS |
Choose the sheerest, nudest, most natural color you can get away with. You can apply lipstick with gloss/petroleum jelly over top, or use a tinted gloss. |
