Where is the old version of Instant Makeover?
We released the new, Web-based version in September of 2005. The old, downloadable version is no longer available.
What is different about Instant Makeover for the Web?
The new version now works right in your browser and requires no special software. You just need the most recent version of Flash installed on your computer, and most people already have that. The new version works in both Windows and Mac! And, the new version has vastly superior hairstyles capability compared to the old version.
When I try to start Instant Makeover, nothing happens! What is the problem?
You may, for some reason, not have the most recent version of Flash installed on your computer. You can obtain it at http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer.
When I try to upload my photo to Instant Makeover, I get an error message saying my "file exceeds 200k." What does this mean?
Your photo for Instant Makeover cannot take up more than 200k of diskspace. You can either use your photo editing software to resave your photo at a lower resolution (like 72 dpi) so that it takes up less than 200k of diskspace, or you can take a new photo with your digital camera, with the camera set for a lower resolution like 72 dpi. Then try reuploading the new photo to Instant Makeover. If the photo is less than 200k you will no longer see this error message.
