| Not since Audrey Hepburn has anyone had eyes as captivating as Winona's. To create your own modern gamine look, focus on the eyes.

FACE |
| Foundation / concealer
For flawless skin, use a yellow-based concealer and ivory foundation to cover imperfections and shadows. Blend, blend and blend.
After applying blush (below) dust with matching ivory powder. Use a large powder brush or velour puff all over to set makeup. Leave for 3-5 minutes and then brush off excess. |
| Blush |
Using a medium rounded brush, apply a soft pink or rose on apples of cheeks. For an even softer look, apply a touch of blush at temples. Blend. Did we say blend? Blend.
EYES |
| Eyelid |
These eyes are smokin'! Try a pearly beige or pewter across the entire lid. Then apply a smoky gray to the outer half of the lid if you want to widen the eyes. Blend.
| Crease |
Fill the crease with a dark frosted brown or charcoal grey. Blend well.
| Hilite |
Apply a pearl almost-white or vanilla shadow to the browbone and inner corners of eyes.
| Eyeliner |
Use a dark brown or black/brown pencil, sharpened to a fine point, to line the entire eye corner to corner, top and bottom. Keep the line thin and close to the lashes, blending into the lashes, themselves. The line can get thicker towards the outer corners if you like.
Using an eyeliner brush, go over your pencil eyeliner with the dark brown crease shade. Use this shadow to blur and soften the pencil liner, blurring more at the outer corners than the inner. The shadow creates the smokey effect that you really can't get with liner alone. |
| Mascara |
Ms. Ryder has enviable lashes (real or not?). If your lashes are less than lush, you might want to use strategically placed, individual falsies (lashes that is). Curl and top with a coat or two of black/brown or black mascara. Separate with a lash comb if necessary to avoid a spikey look.
| Brows |
Try a sheer lipstick or gloss in a pink or melon shade.
LIPS |
Line lips with a blue-red -- make sure to start with a sharp pencil -- and follow with a fire engine red lipstick. Apply lipstick with a brush to insure even color without smudging. Apply lipstick, blot with tissue, and apply again for staying power.
