| The "Baby Girl" of the Fugees has definitely grown up and Lauryn Hill's style is as trademark as her face. Create your own trademark look, taking a cue from this spirited diva: |
FACE |
| Foundation / concealer
Conceal dark circles under the eyes and in the inner corners with a green or yellow-based concealer. Also hide any blemishes or spots on the face. Blend well.
Use a sponge or fingers to apply foundation on uneven areas. Blend well with concealer. A cream-powder foundation will save a step in application by not having to apply powder. Otherwise, set with powder after applying blush. |
| Blush |
Use a large blush brush to apply a raspberry or rose blush to apples of cheeks and to chin. Blend well.
EYES |
| Eyelid |
Cover the lid in a pearly, medium lavender shade. |
| Crease |
Try covering the crease in a dark, pearly burgundy or plum shade. Sweep the shadow across the crease and all the way to the outer corners of the eyes. Continue around underneath the lower lashes about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way across. Blend well.
| Hilite |
Use a pearly white or very light pink to hilite the area under the arch of the brow. Dot in the inner corners of the eyes if desired, for extra sparkle.
| Eyeliner |
Try an intense, frosty blue pencil on top from corner to corner. Use smokey gray or charcoal on the bottom, just along the lashline (smush it into the lashes as much as possible and blur with a sponge).
| Mascara |
Use plenty of black mascara. You can also apply single, falsh lashes strategically along the top lashline to get the maximum effect. |
| Brows |
To copy Lauryn's ample but sleek brows, try dabbing a dime-sized mount of hair gel into the palm of your hand. Add to brows using just a fingertip or brow brush. Let dry 3 minutes and use an old toothbrush or brow brush to brush off excess gel. |
LIPS |
For lush lips, use a wine or plum lipstick and pencil. Try moisturing lips with petroleum jelly for 10-30 minutes prior to applying lipstick.
