| Charlize vamps it up with Bette Davis eyes and Marilyn Monroe lips. To recreate Charlize's movie star glamour, BeautyRiot suggests: |
FACE |
|
|
| Foundation / concealer
|
Flawless, understated skin is important here. Start with a yellow-based concealer a shade lighter than your own skin to conceal undereye circles and darkness in the inner corners. Blend well.
Try a powder foundation using a damp sponge, blending well with concealer. Apply sparingly, but make sure to cover any imperfections. |
| Blush |
Using a medium blush brush, apply a soft rose shade to the apples of the cheeks. Apply sparingly and blend well.
Afterwards, set the blush with a light dusting of powder, brushing off any excess.
|
EYES |
|
|
| Eyelid |
Cover the lid in a pearly, pale yellow/gold shade. Apply a light amount of shadow under the lower lashes. Blend well. |
| Crease |
Fill in the crease with a terra cotta or pinky orange shadow. You can sweep some of this shadow from the outer crease down to the outer corner of the eye, to widen eyes, if desired. Blend.
|
| Hilite |
Using a very pale pearly shade, apply just a hint under the arch of the brow. Add a dot to the inner corners of eyes, if you like, to brighten - blend! |
| Eyeliner |
Try a smoky taupe or or black/brown pencil to line the top and lower lashes.
On the upper lashline, begin lining just where the lashes begin at the inner part of the eye. Keep the line thin and clean, getting the color in between the lashes as much as possible. As you progress toward the outer corner of the eye, allow the line to get thicker, with the widest part of the line covering the outer third section of the lashline.
Lightly fill just the outer half of the lower lashline. Blend the entire line. |
| Mascara |
Again, for softness and understatement, select a brown or black/brown so that lashes aren't overly dramatic. |
| Brows |
Use a very sharp brow pencil in golden blonde or taupe and make short quick strokes to fill in and shape brows. Focus mostly on the top of the arch of the brow. |
LIPS |
|
|
|
Try a lipstick in fire-engine red (look for blue-reds, not orange-reds), but make sure you use a matching pencil first to keep lipstick from bleeding. Apply lipstick with a lip brush.
Use the old trick of applying lipstick, blotting with tissue, and then applying lipstick again. |
